I’m Aleo.

I’m a Character Designer with a love for creating cute creatures in cosmic settings.

As a kid, my favorite pastime was either pouring over art and science books at the local library, or drawing creatures that made me happy to look at. These are habits that have stuck with me even until now.

Character design is a huge part of who I am. I enjoy collaborating, instructing, and designing interesting characters with traits which serve a narrative (or which create one). I love illustration, but I also spend a significant amount of time writing, producing music, and animating with 3D software.

As an artist with Schizophrenia, I’ve experienced a lot of unfortunate symptoms. Even though it hasn’t been easy to process my condition, my experience with mental illness plays a big role in the art I make. There’s something about cozy and comforting creature designs that has a soothing effect on the mind.

As far as my art goes, I’ve gone through a lot of effort honing my style. Character design conveys a visual language that is unique to each designer. Sometimes it can be frustrating finding the right balance of traits to place on a character, but most of the time, it’s a lot of fun.
